July 11, 2018

How’s life after the New Energy Challenge? We made an online round across various participants of the New Energy Challenge 2017 to see how they’re doing. Guess what? It seems that our finalists made  progress after the New Energy Challenge and have been rewarded with prizes and partnerships.

SOLHO

Congratulations to SOLHO! The team won the first prize in “Energy, Water and Food” category at Berlin Tech Festival Start Up Energy Transition last April. SOLHO’s focusses on off-grid solar-based energy systems. Their pitch at the Challenge will bring you up to speed with their technology.

Onewatt

OneWatt is preventing problems by listening to motors. Their technology can detect and predict faults even before they happen. For this idea the startup won the Terrace award and Delta Award, a great accomplishment! Want to learn more? Watch their pitch or read their interview with TNW.

CorPower Ocean

CorPower Ocean has created a wave energy converter based on the principles of the human heart. Last June, the Swedish Energy Agency announced they will invest €8.2m to allow CorPower to demonstrate its technology at full scale. Congratulations! Want to know how the technology works? Find their Challenge pitch here.

Solaris Offgrid

Another New Energy Challenge competitor is having lots of success with their startup! Solaris Offgrid effectively completed its integration with Amped Innovation’s WOWsolar product family last March. Congrats Solaris Offgrid and good luck with your new partnership. Forgot what Solaris Offgrid’s idea is? No worries, find their pitch during the New Energy Challenge here.
