Tomorrow’s energy system needs new thinking, new technologies and new approaches to Renewables & Energy Solutions. Meet the most promising start-ups and scale-ups from the ecosystem during our finals broadcast on 28 October 2021, 15:30 – 17:00h.
The broadcasted event will feature the announcement of the challenge winners, as well as two panel discussions with leading experts from the renewables and energy industry, shedding light on the following themes:
Investing (in) Climate – “There’s a lot of talk about building back better, and many offers of investment from business, government and other sources, so it should be simple for start-ups and scale-ups to thrive in the EU. However, the US often seems to be in the driving seat of energy innovation. What needs to change here? The ambition of EU research and innovation policy is to position the EU as a leader in nature-based innovation to create a more sustainable and resilient society. The ultimate question remains: are we funding nature-based solutions enough to create real impact?
Digital Solutions for Enhanced Transparency – “The era in which carbon footprint data was used solely to inform the annual sustainability report is over: active decarbonisation policies are becoming the new normal. The transparent and effective use of data helps to build trust in decarbonising actions, which is why businesses are taking a data-driven approach towards sustainability. Carbon accounting practices must, gradually but soon, become more accurate, detailed, and transparent to effectively run businesses in the future.”
